Anna C. Briggs 3rd Annual Memorial Hike - Briggs Animal Adoption Center

Anna C. Briggs was the founder of The National Humane Education Society (NHES) which is the BAAC’s parent organization. Mrs. Briggs spent her life focused on making the world a better place for animals. She welcomed all of us to join her in creating a more humane world: “Join me on this important journey by … taking whatever steps you can take on behalf of cats and dogs ….”

This year, on November 6, 2022, we will be hiking 10.1 miles on part of the Appalachian Trail to memorialize both Anna C. Briggs and Virginia Briggs Dungan. In doing so, we will be seeking to raise much-needed funds to purchase the most basic of needs for the animals in our care—the need for food.

Thanks to our Board of Directors and one very kind donor, proceeds donated through this hike will be matched–up to $5,000!

DONATE TODAY

We’d like to invite you to aide us in “taking thousands of steps” to save more animals—and you can do it at your own pace in a location of your choosing!

All participants will receive a commemorative window cling sticker.

For questions, please email development@nhes.org

All proceeds will benefit The Briggs Animal Adoption Center, a program of NHES, a 501(c)(3) organization.

On behalf of the animals, we thank you!
