In light of the “Stay at Home” notice given by WV Governor Jim Justice beginning 3/24/20, the BAAC will be closed to the public for an undefined period of time.
We will, however, show animals for adoption by setting appointments with applicants willing to complete and submit an online adoption application. After you view the animals online that you may be interested in, just fill out and submit an application.
One of our adoption counselors will contact you via email and/or telephone to go over the application with you, answer any questions you may have about the animal(s) and then schedule an appointment with the animals to visit.
The guidelines we have will still apply. All household occupants will need to come visit with the animal(s), including any dogs that may be in the home, as well as younger children. This may require additional appointments/visits. The adoption counselor will be happy to go over the guidelines with you after receiving you adoption application.
To view and complete an application, go to our Adoption Application page.
We hope this will be a temporary measure and that we’ll be able to return to our Spring/Summer hours of operation as public health recommendations are updated. Please check back with our website or our Facebook page for further updates.
You are welcome to call us at 304-724-6558 and ask to speak to an adoption counselor. But please do not stop by as we will be closed and you’ll need to have an appointment to see the animals. In the event you receive a voice message when you call our main number, please leave a message with your name, email, telephone number and what animals you are interested in. You can also email the adoption department with questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our volume of calls may increase during this time so please understand that we will return your calls as soon as possible.
Thank you for your cooperation during this time and be well!
