This year, on November 6, 2022, we will be hiking 10.1 miles on part of the Appalachian Trail to memorialize both Anna C. Briggs and Virginia Briggs Dungan. In doing so, we will be seeking to raise much-needed funds to purchase the most basic of needs for the animals in our care—the need for food.
The First Annual Anna C. Briggs Memorial Hike for Homeless Animals was held the beginning of November 2020. Ten staff and volunteers each hiked 10.1 miles of the Appalachian Trail for a combined total of 101 miles—equal to Anna C. Briggs’ 101 years on this earth helping to create a more humane world for animals. Watch a short video of why staff and volunteers hiked in memory of Anna C. Briggs.
We’d like to invite you join us in “taking thousands of steps” to save more animals—and you can do it at your own pace in a location of your choosing! In 2022, the hike will be held on Sunday, November 6th.
