Ruby is an affectionate, senior cat.

When Ruby arrived at the BAAC her left rear leg had a compound fracture which was severely infected with exposed bone and tissue damage.

Ruby was also anemic from parasites, further complicated by a lot of blood loss.

Thankfully, our staff veterinarian was able to treat the infection, stabilize her vitals, and safely amputate her infected leg.

Now, Ruby is recovered from surgery and getting used to life on three legs.

Sweet Ruby got picked on a little by other cats here and subsequently moved to the quieter administration area.

There she is able to be more comfortable with just a couple other cats and her favorite humans.

Ruby is a very sweet cat who loves to be petted and to curl up in your lap.

She is extremely talkative and will not hesitate to let you know when she wants something.

Ruby would be perfect for someone who is looking for an affectionate cat who isn’t too active.

Ruby has been adopted out twice and returned through no fault of her own.

You can imagine how this is very unsettling for any animal let alone Ruby who has been through quite a lot.

We ask that potential adopters really consider their level of dedication to Ruby’s well being.

Ruby may take some time to fully trust and become comfortable in a new home.

She will need the utmost patience and love to help her along.

We can tell you that the reward of gaining her trust is amazing and well worth the time it may take.

She is very fond of her “friends” upstairs in the administration area where she resides.

We hope that you will give her the chance she deserves and not give up on this sweet girl who needs you.
