Shar pei Puppies

Update February, 25, 2009: on Valentines day, Cosmo found his forever home with a wonderful BAAC volunteer!  We finally can say these wonderful pups who had a very scary beginning have grown, healed and are doing wonderfully.

Update January 21, 2008:  All 3 pups have grown in size and are just wonderfully sweet. We are happy to report that Mai Tai and Manhattan have been adopted. Cosmo is still waiting for his permanent loving home but we're hoping he'll find it soon!

Update March 7, 2007: Manhattan, Cosmo and Mai Tai have grown and after several months of treatment, their coats are looking beautiful! They are now up for adoption and new photos will be available for them soon!

History: On December 9, 2006, the BAAC took in 3 Shar pei mix puppies which had come from a tragic fire where a family of 2 adults and 3 children, 3 dogs and 3 cats perished.
They are adorable and happy little pups, 2 males and 1 female. They're about 4 months of age and range from 8 to 10 lbs. We've named them (from left to right) Manhattan, Cosmo and Mai Tai..

They have hair loss on several areas of their face, head and legs, and are currently receiving oatmeal baths and conditioning.  In just the past 7 days, their coats are beginning to show improvement and shine.

The three pups will be spayed/neutered soon and will be receiving their initial vaccinations. They will be up for adoption just after Christmas.

If you are interested in adopting one of these cute little pups, you can call us at 304-724-6558 or submit an online Adoption Application. (Application is listed under Adoption at the top left of each page of this website.)

"Manhattan" - Male - Presently, the largest pup but the easiest-going.

"Cosmo" - Male - Sweet and likes to mix it up with the others.

"Mai Tai" - Female - No shrinking violet!  She sticks up for herself.

If you would be interested in helping us offset some of the costs of their care, we would greatly appreciate it.  We will be paying for their surgeries, vaccinations, coat/skin care treatments, de-wormings, housing, food, advertising and adoption procedures.

The administrative fee for adoption ($95.00) only covers our costs to spay/neuter and administer first vaccinations and de-wormings.  The rest we absorb and depend upon donations from the public to help offset our costs.

The Briggs Animal Adoption Center is a non-profit 501(3)(c) organization and we do not receive any monetary support from local, state or federal governments.
