Meet Allie, a darling Beagle mix.

When Allie arrived at the BAAC, she was quite shy and unsure of her surroundings. When she would be touched in certain places, Allie would scream out. She may have been mistreated as a young pup or is just a very sensitive girl who was easily hurt by people who told her to get out of the way.  It's hard to tell but either way, Allie is getting a little braver every day.

She will need a home that isn't super busy and loud. It may help to have another dog in the home so that Allie can see how well-adjusted that dog is, allowing her to feel more relaxed around everyone.

We have recently found out that Allie may not be good around young children so ask the adoption counselor as to her status with kids.

The BAAC took in five Beagle mix pups weeks ago and they are now ready for adoption. The first one has already found a home and some of us shown here have already been seen by possible adopters.

They are all sweet, cuddly and ready for a home. The real question is, are you ready for the lifelong commitment involved that can last 14, 16 or more years? If so, come check these kids out.

Boomer is an outgoing and friendly dog.

If you remember Olivia from a month or so ago, then you'll recognize the face. Boomer is Olivia's brother. They both came from a situation where there were too many dogs.

As you can see in his photo above, he wants to please and enjoys being with his caretakers.

Boomer is happy, active and seems to like other dogs and most everyone he meets.

We had cat tested Boomer once but we're unsure how he would be with cats from that one experience. He seems to like cats but we think he would chase them if they run.

Buddy would like to be yours.

Buddy is a great little dog. He has a type of dental bite that causes his lips to not quite cover his top teeth which makes him look like he's grinning. His bite doesn't interfere with his eating so he's fine along those lines.

Buddy is a very gentle and accommodating dog. He pretty much goes with the flow.

Carla is good-humored and has a vibrant personality.

She is a little hesitant around men and may take a little time and patience to feel comfortable around men.

Carla likes most other dogs. Come and meet this sweetie soon!

Colby is a real cutie!

He's very sweet and friendly.

Colby enjoys playing with the other dogs but seems to really enjoy spending time with people.

Cookie loves life and her food so we have had to put her on a diet since she has come into the BAAC. She has dropped 7 lbs. since her arrival and still has a bit more to go.

She is hoping to find someone who will look at her inner beauty, instead of just her outside.Once in a home, her family will need to keep an eye on the treats given her. Her cute face is very hard to resist.

She is a darling girl and very, very sweet. She previously learned that love came in the form of treats and as Beagles have a tendency to do, she learned to beg and beg for more! Since coming here to the BAAC, she last lost 6 lbs on her diet.

This is Cupid. He was born on Valentine's Day and he is Lacey's pup.

Cupid and his sister were born to Lacey who was due to give birth when she arrived at the BAAC.  Her two puppies were very big and our veterinarian had to perform a caesarian procedure to help her with the pups.

Cupid is ready for his forever home.  He's very sweet of course.  So is his sister, Valentina. However, Valentina requires surgery for several hernias so she will not be available for adoption for several months.

If you like Beagles mixed with a little bit of a larger dog, you will fall in love with Cupid.

Young Denver is gentle and quiet. Laurie came from the same place as Denver, but she is the outgoing, goofy one.

Denver has a small spot on his right eye where our vet thinks he may have been injured when he was a pup.  She believes Denver still has sight through that eye, but it may be a little cloudier than normal.

Denver is a very nice little dog but will take some time to come around.  He needs to continue to have confidence-boosting and lots of love.

Fiji is a somewhat shy dog who would do best in a home with all females.

She is quite afraid around men and in her former home, she never did get comfortable around them, even after a few months.

Fiji is a great dog. She likes other dogs and another dog in the home might just help her come out of her shell a little faster.

Fletch is this soft and fluffy guy's name.

Fletch came to the BAAC from another rescue who was given Fletch from a family who just had a baby. That was their reason for giving Fletch up.

However, the family had other children that Fletch grew up with and they said he was very good with kids, great with other dogs and fine around cats.

Fletch is also suppose to be crate-trained and housebroken. (However, we cannot guarantee this information and always suggest the adopter(s) be aware they need to establish a schedule with their new dog.)

As you can see in the photo above, when taking his photos, Fletch just wanted to rollover and have his belly rubbed!

Floyd is a charming Beagle-mix fella who still enjoys playing like a pup.

He relishes cuddling up and getting attention. In the short time we have had Floyd here at the BAAC, he appears to be very good natured and likes other dogs as well.

What Floyd has told us about himself is that he would love for someone to come visit with him and consider him becoming a member of their family!

Freda is a lovey, kissy kind of pup! She has lots of puppy play in her and wants to share her life and her kisses with everyone!

Freda would enjoy growing up with a family who will welcome her into their home as a member of their family. She will need them to provide her with exercise, training and of course, plenty of love!

She's a happy-go-lucky pup named Holly.

Holly is very sweet and playful.

She's active, loves to run and play and loves to get and give attention.

Honey Bee is this girl's name because she's so sweet!

She looks shy in her photos, but that's because she had newly arrived at the BAAC.

We were told that Honey Bee was a real sweetheart and that's what we've seen with her. She pretty much follows the person she is with and waits for them to reassure her and give her hugs.

Honey Bee appears larger in her photos than what she really is. We have her as a Beagle mix and she may have some other Hound breed in her too.

Hooch is a handsome Beagle mix with great markings. He is quite sweet. True to his Beagle breed, he will sometimes begin to bay to let everyone know he is around and would love them to come see him.

Hooch likes other dogs and would love to have a home with a great yard to sniff and play in!

Kaboodle is a happy little guy who likes everyone.

While he has been with us he has shown that he enjoys running and playing with the other dogs, as well as wanting attention from his human companions.

We were told that he is also good around children and cats so he may fit well into a lot of families. It is just a matter of finding that right match for him.

One thing to keep in mind about Kaboodle is that being a Beagle mix, he can be a talker. When he wants attention, he will be vocal and whine or talk to get you to notice him. Of course, if he is in a family home where he can receive attention one-on-one, he should be happy as a clam.

Laurie is fun-loving and goofy.

She enjoys being around people, other dogs and her squeaky toys.

As you can tell from the photo above, she likes to smile too!

Lousie is a gentle, sweet lady.

The veterinarian approximates her age around six. As mentioned above, Louise is gentle and appears to be perfectly content to live in a nice home with good food, a warm bed and lots of love.

For that, she'll gladly return the love with loyal companionship.

This loveable little guy is named Lucas.

He enjoys running in the yard and playing with other dogs.

Lucas is quite sweet and comes up for attention and pets. He is still a pup so he has lots of time to grow up with kids.

Manny and his brother, Moe, are sweet Beagle-mix pups waiting for their forever homes.

Both pups are good around other dogs and seem to do pretty well with cats also.

Manny is a little more outgoing than Moe. Like Moe, however, he is submissive and very sweet.

Midge is a sweet old lady looking for a loving home to spend the rest of her days in.

She was a stray brought to us and we are just estimating her age at around 12+ years.

When she arrived, she had fleas and ticks, an abscess on her nose and she was positive for Lyme disease. We treated her and she now is feeling much better and ready to find that nice lap to hang out on for the rest of her days.

Moe and his brother, Manny, are Beagle-mix pups who are waiting to find their forever homes.

Both pups are good around other dogs and seem to do pretty well with cats also.

Moe seems to be slightly quieter than his brother. However, both pups are loveable and very sweet!

Nadia looks like a larger dog in her pictures but she's only 27 lbs.

In the short time she has been at the BAAC, she has been very gentle and sweet.

She seeks attention of her human companions by gently jumping up to see you.

She's living up to her name because she is the last pup of the litter still waiting for that perfect match!

There is nothing wrong with this little cutie. She just hasn't found a home yet. If you are interested in having a puppy and all of the joys and (some work) that come with one, come see sweet Patience.

This sad looking little face belongs to the puppy Petunia.

She's a quiet little girl but isn't as sad as she looks. She's slightly shy but very sweet.

If she was to find a wonderful, loving home to live, she might just look a little happier.

Rhapsody is a little shy but very sweet.

She plays with other dogs here and shares a room with a dog as well, so she's good with dogs. She seemed to do fine around cats too.

Recently, Rhapsody met several children and was very happy and playful around them.

Rowdy definitely Does Not live up to his name!

He's been a very quiet and gentle dog in the time he's been at the BAAC.

It was difficult to get a good photo of Rowdy because he looks so sad when you take his picture.

But Rowdy is actually a sweet and friendly dog. He's just waiting for his permanent, loving match to come his way.

After spending her early years on a chain without much socialization, Ruby is beginning to come out of her shell.

When she first arrived at the BAAC she was so afraid she would growl at those who approached her. The photo on the right was taken the second day of her arrival and as you can see, she was very wary of her surroundings. But now Ruby is beginning to realize that all people aren't bad and she was even smiling in the upper left photo.

Ruby is a wonderfully sweet and happy dog.

She was in a home for several years but was returned to us due to a break up in the family.  Unfortunately, Ruby had to be left alone for too many hours during the day.

Ruby is good with other dogs and loves people. She's no longer a puppy, but she can provide lots of companionship to an individual or family who will be her permanent, loving home for the rest of her life.

Sequoia is much more energetic than her photos portray.

She is playful and likes to have fun. Would you like to give Sequoia that "fun" and loving home?

Spanky is a gregarious and active little guy!

He loves people, places and things.  He also likes to play with the other dogs in the yard so he'd probably enjoy having a playmate in his new home!

Splash is a very sweet dog who came in with Puddles.

It's a little difficult to tell in her photos, but please keep in mind that Splash is a small dog.

Her weight is only 16 lbs. She just looks a little larger in her photos.

So far, Splash does pretty well around other dogs and seemed to do fine with a cat in our office.

This little darling lives up to her name

Thelma is a great family dog.

As you can see in her photo above, she likes to roll over and get belly rubs.

She is an all-around playmate and we just love her. Come see her for yourself!

We wish we could understand "dog speak" so Toby could tell us of his previous adventures.

When Toby first arrived at the BAAC, he was a stray whose little body appeared to have been either attacked by another dog or possibly caught up in sharp wire fencing.

Whatever he experienced, it hasn't changed him from being a very sweet boy who just enjoys being held. Initially he appears a little wary or afraid of strangers but quickly warms up once he gets to know you.

We hope that it won't be long until Toby finds a caring, human companion with whom he can spend the rest of his life.

Topper is a young and happy lad.

He likes children, playtime and meeting new people.

In the photo above, Topper is helping out at the BAAC by meeting and greeting the public at our front reception area.

Come visit Topper and see for yourself how friendly a guy he is and consider if he might be the best match for you and your home.

Trapper loves children and bonds to them quickly even though he is a bit timid with adults initially.

When Topper arrived at the BAAC, we found that he tested mildly positive for heartworm. We have given him his heartworm treatments over the course of the past month and he is doing wonderfully. He is an energetic little guy and wants to be around the activity.

All he needs is a little initial time to get to know you and then he is well on his way!

This tri-colored beauty is ready for a wonderful home.

Tressa is a gentle girl who appears to really love kids and most everyone else she meets.

She is just a little shy but shouldn't take too long to warm up in her new home and become a very loyal, dedicated member of the family.

Willow is a good name for this little girl.

She is young and can be active in play so she will need someone to provide her with lots of exercise and some basic obedience training.

Willow likes to play with doggy toys but will tear up stuffy toys so it would be best to avoid giving her those type of toys.

Willow has been around our resident cat, Porch Kitty and was fine around him.

She warms up to women pretty quickly and also loves to sit in her human companions' laps!

Winn Dixie is this friendly girl's name.

Winn Dixie enjoys playing and running with kids and other dogs. She really enjoys looking out the window so we know she'd have a great time going out and going on walks and hikes.

Winn Dixie does do some pulling on the leash so she would benefit from some basic obedience training. Come see this sweetie!

Zoe is a sweet old gal who just wants to spend her time in a warm, loving home.

She enjoys taking nice walks and just hanging out with her people.

Zoe is really a nice little lady who doesn't ask for much. Come see her!
