If you share your life with a Husky, you need to provide him or her with plenty of exercise. Huskies are very loyal and usually very friendly dogs, as in Glacier's case, but be prepared if you let them off the leash in an unfenced area. They may decide to take off and explore the countryside before returning to your call. And we know what kind of trouble awaits a dog on the loose, whether in the city or country.
While you should always have a collar with id tags on your dog, it is also very important to make sure your dog is trained to respond to your call. With many Siberian Huskies, that can be a bit of a challenge if they get the "call of the wild"! |

At this point she lacks the confidence to know what it is she is supposed to do. She needs someone who is willing to work with her on her housebreaking skills, but with positive reinforcement only. Kizzma is very confused about correction and if you raise your voice, she cowers and tries to hide. With some patience and consistency given to Kizzma, we know she will learn to relax and feel comfortable in her new home. |

She may be short one leg but she's got extra love to give. | Grey and white | Lani is such a doll baby and would love to be yours. Lani came to us as a stray but was someone's dog at one point. She has had her back right leg amputated. Lani was in very poor condition when she arrived at the BAAC. She was diagnosed positive with heartworm and we have treated her for that condition. She is almost finished with her treatments and will just require a checkup down the road with a possible followup treatment for the heartworms. Lani is a sweetheart who may be short one leg but she's got extra love to give. |
