While it is pretty apparent that Becca has German Shepherd in her background, she has unique paws that indicate another breed.

Becca digits on her paws are splayed out and resemble partially webbed feet. She may have a background breed in her heritage that would be considered a "water" loving dog. So far, we haven't had the chance to test that theory out on her but it won't be long before the BAAC dogs will be swimming in their pools and we will know if Becca enjoys the water.

Becca has a terrific personality and lots of puppy energy still in her. As you can see in her photos, she has a very happy persona and enjoys interacting with people.

Becca is initially timid but has a terrific personality and lots of puppy energy still in her. As you can see in her photos, she has a very happy persona and enjoys interacting with people. She will do best with someone who has the patience and time to take her out into the world to meet people and gain confidence while she is maturing.

Dexter is growing every day and has completed his basic obedience training here at the BAAC.

We have him listed as a Shepherd Mix but wouldn't be surprised if he has a little St. Bernard in there somewhere. His head and eyes appear to have some of the Saint's characteristics and his paws are pretty good size.

Dexter does pretty well with other dogs and can play with the best of them.

We have shown Dexter with children and he has a great time with them but so far, he hasn't found a home yet.

Since Dexter will continue to grow for many months yet, someone wishing to adopt him will need to keep that in mind. Due to his large size, he will need to be provided with consistency of training so that he doesn't get away with doing what he wants, when he wants.

Phoenix deserves to be spoiled.

After spending much of his youth on a chain, Phoenix has come to know the love and attention he deserves. Now, if he could only find a home willing to give him the same thing, he'd be in Heaven!

Quigley is a gentle dog who likes belly rubs.

He is very sweet and will submissively roll over to get those rubs on his belly.

Quigley appears to be a dog who will fall in love with his human companions and will bond for life.

We believe that he may do well with children, but he has just recently come up for adoption and we'll need a little more time to see how he interacts with everyone.

Sheba is a beautiful German Shepherd Dog in a smaller size!

Along with being a happy and playful dog who will sit with you and play with her toys, she did wonderfully with her beginning obedience training.

An all-American girl, Sheba likes children, kitty cats and almost everyone she meets.

So, if you're looking for a dog who will go places with you and your family, Sheba is the one!

Topaz is a friendly and happy girl.

She has the Shepherd mask but definitely has another breed (or 2) mixed in.  Since she has that lovely golden color in her coat, perhaps she is mixed with a Lab.

Topaz enjoys playing with other dogs and loves people.

Vic is a happy guy who wants to please.

He likes people and would love to go on walks and hikes in the country if that is your inclination.

Like a lot of German Shepherds, Vic is a loyal dog who bonds deeply with his human companion(s). When left alone, Vic sometimes experiences separation anxiety so he would do best in a home where there is someone there with him most of the time.

It's possible that Vic would do well in a home with another dog that he can become attached to. Vic had previously been in a home where he challenged the other dog who was his size but more submissive. It's possible that Vic was showing he wanted to be "top" dog in the house and the other dog, although his size, was not standing up for himself.

At the BAAC, Vic goes out into the playyard with another, smaller female Terrier mix who has a confident personality. She doesn't let him get away with him trying to dominate her. Perhaps Vic will do better in a home with a female instead of another male (even though all animals are spayed/neutered) and with a dog that is slightly smaller who doesn't challenge him in size. But the dog should have some confidence and let Vic know that they have their own place in the family dynamics.

Dogs can also be like people and just not like the personality of another dog. So, if you think you might be interested in seeing Vic, we are willing to introduce him to your other dog at the BAAC to see how they interact. We have a large fenced in dog park where they can be introduced on "neutral" territory.

Vic is a great dog who will need a patient human willing to work with him and provide him the love and sense of security he needs, and in return, Vic will give plenty of love and loyalty back.
