Miss Patti has come a long, long way in a short time.
We're not really sure of Miss Patti's age because she was in such poor shape when she arrived.
Miss Patti had been on her own for a while. She was emaciated, had eye infections and many areas on her body where the skin was red, irritated and infected.
Miss Patti had also had a lot of litters of puppies in her life and her teeth were in bad shape which made it difficult to age her.
She is the type of dog that is often bred over and over as a money maker by selling her pups for any number of reasons (fighting, security dogs, etc.). Patti's back legs were very weak and although they have shown improvement, it's doubtful they will ever be at full strength. Dogs that have been chained or confined for long periods of time often have this problem because their muscles atropy with lack of exercise and movement.
Miss Patti had obviously chewed on objects that wore her teeth down badly (which could be anything from wires, cages, stones or even cans when she was starving for food).
But we're happy to say that Miss Patti's previous sad life is over. She's gained some weight and truly enjoys sitting beside you to be petted and cuddled.
All Miss Patti needs now is to find that loving adopter who will give her a wonderful home for the rest of her life.
