Maxie is a beautiful cat with captivating eyes.
They are a light, pale aqua color and one of the first things you notice about her.
Maxie was rescued from the Hurricane Katrina area. We brought her here to the BAAC and noticed she was having sinus problems. Upon examination, it was revealed that Maxie had a hole in the upper palate of her mouth.
X-rays revealed that Maxie had been shot by a type of pellet gun. After several surgeries, the hole in her upper palate has been closed. She still has the pellet in her sinuses, which the veterinarian believes will not pose any problems. It was in an area of her sinuses which would have caused more damage if the vet had tried to remove the pellet.
