Name: Bennett
Breed: Border Collie Mix
DOB: 11/01/1997
Gender: Male
Weight: 22
Information:

Bennett is just ecstatic now that he is warm, dry, clean and free from a chain! He is one of three dogs that we received who lived in horrendous conditions.

His legs are quite short and you may notice that one of his front legs is crooked. It appears that it had been broken some time ago and never repaired but it doesn't seem to affect his energy or spirit.

Bennett is a happy, friendly fellow who needs another chance at a good life. As in the case of many dogs who are on chains for an extended period of time, all three dogs' teeth were badly misshapen and a few had to be extracted.

The poor condition of their teeth indicate that the three dogs may be around five years of age but we have seen many chain dogs that were only three years of age with teeth like this. Whatever their ages, they deserve to have human companions who will provide them with the permanent, loving homes we wish they had received in their earlier years of life.

Ask to see the photos we have of Bennett's home before he arrived at the BAAC and you will get an idea of just what he and his fellow canines had to endure. You'll be amazed at the sweet dispositions they exhibit after receiving such a deplorable lack of care in their earlier years!

Bennett is one who will need a little positive, consistent work with housetraining to discourage him from marking. Since he is quite smart and wants to please, he should pick it up quickly with positive reinforcement training.
