This cute little boy is named Bentley.
Although initially shy with new people, once he gets to know someone, he's a great lap dog. One of Bentley's favorite things is to lie down and have his belly rubbed.
Since Bentley is such a small guy who has had a rough early beginning, he needs some time and patience to gain his confidence. We do not feel comfortable adopting him into a home with young children.
Bentley's front leg is actually crooked and is due to an old injury (perhaps someone stepped on his leg) that was never treated. Our vet has examined him and it is not an injury that would be helped by surgery. He doesn't appear to have any pain with the leg and it looks as if it healed in the bent position without causing him any pain to use it.
Bentley has also been diagnosed with a collapsed trachea. What this means is that he will cough from time to time, especially if he is walked on a slip lead or leash attached to a collar. But this problem can be easily helped by walking him with a harness. A collapsed trachea could have been the result of Bentley being chained or on a collar with a strong leash that pushed & pulled against his trachea.
Bentley should thrive in a quiet, loving home and we're sure he'll bring lots of joy to his adopters.
